Back in the middle of April the lovely Bookish Owlette nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Given I was in the middle of my bookish slump I said thank you, book marked the page and carried on feeling sorry myself and my lack of reading. Now I seem to have gotten my reading and blogging mojo back it’s time to finally get round to taking my turn.
I’m joining in with Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer‘s book blogger hop again this week, where they post a question which you and other bloggers answer, hopping from blog to blog to see people’s answers. This week, the question is…
Is there a reason why you choose Blogger over WordPress or a different platform?
The answer is that I chose WordPress because I found it easier to start with. I did try blogger because I have gmail and Google+ but I didn’t find it that intuitive and I’m not one for reading instructions (or online help forums and the like) and I started to get frustrated. I still don’t quite get Google+ even now and I’m sure I’m missing a trick but as a result I rarely use it.
After trying and failing with blogger I went to the platform it seemed a lot of other bloggers used which was WordPress. I didn’t do any research (it was too close to reading instructions) but found it pretty simple to set up and that made me happy. It meant I didn’t look at any other platforms, though I know they are out there.
Since then I have learnt how to use a lot of the features and I do find it fairly simple to find my way around the site. I also like the reader tool for following a lot of the blogs I like. The app for my iPad drives me potty but otherwise I have no complaints. What about you – what do you use and why?
