Weekly Update: 11th February, 2018

Morning all and Happy Sunday – I hope you have all been having a wonderful weekend.  Ours has been rather quiet so far, though we do have a children’s charity party to go to this afternoon so that will be fun I think, especially followed up by a late Sunday lunch.  The week was quite quiet for me too, with only a bit of work on and one day of excitement where I went to a professional development day and got to meet new people – all of whom were very nice, which made it a good day.

It was quiet on the blog and reading wise as well.  I just couldn’t find any energy after posting the first few days of the week.  I think it’s because I was reading a book that I wasn’t completely enjoying and that always makes me a bit flat.  I’ve finished it now though, so hopefully, this week will be a bit more energised.  Here’s what I did post:

On Monday, I posted a discussion post where I asked Is Variety The Spice of Blogging Life? and pondered on the fact that I think I follow too many blogs and am missing out on those I really enjoy as a result.

On Tuesday, I shared my latest read, Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris, which I’ve already finished but need to wait a few weeks to post a review on (this was not the book that left me flat!).

On Thursday, I posted my first and only review of the week, Look For Me by Lisa Gardner, which was another great book by an author I love and who always seems to keep me on the edge of my seat.

And that’s it for me this week. I told you it was a slow one.  What about you? What have you been up to, reading and otherwise?

  1. Don’t you think that sometimes quiet weeks are meant for a reason?

Perhaps the body’s way of telling us to slow down, chill and take things easy?

You have featured a couple of great sounding books though and although I have yet to read anything by B.A. Paris, I do have a couple of books on my Goodreads ‘Want To Read’ shelf and Lisa Gardner is one of my favourite authors.

I am off now to check out your discussion post, as that really sounds like something I should be reading!!

    Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

    • It really has taken the wind out of my sales. The weird thing is I wrote the review today and it isn’t a bad book, it’s just not a book for me.

  2. About following many blogs! You know how I do it? Yeah, I follow a lot on WP and Bloglovin’ – and that’s just to show love and support to all those bloggers. But there are those truly close friends or favorites you don’t want to miss – maybe ten of them – I have in Feedly 😉 you can also make categories and folders in feedly! Which is amazing. Try it. You won’t miss your fave posts that way.

  3. I read Look for Me and want to read the B.A. Paris title, as that cover and blurb grab me! Hope you have an energizing reading week ahead!

  4. I love a slow week, because it means more time to catch up on the reads and the TV. And more curling up on the bed. Sadly I didnt have one. But that is ok because I just came from a holiday a week ago and there is a lot to catch up on. Glad you had some quiet time.

  5. Look For Me looks awesome, I have been so into thrillers lately. I’ll look that up and maybe add to the pile ha ha! And Bring Me Back nods another BA Paris title that looks interesting, I just read the Breakdown recently and would definitely read her again.

    Happy Sunday!

  6. I think that quiet weeks are often a present – I’m hoping the coming week will be one. And that your children’s charity party was enjoyable:) Let’s hope the coming week will be a bit more lively for you.

  9. I hear you about not enjoying a book and it making other things fall flat! It’s funny how our reading lives can impact so much!

I hope you’ve been well lately and I hope to be able to keep up with the blogging this year! So far catching up from hiatus has me pretty buried! Ha ha.

Hope you have a great week!
