Weekly Update: 11th February, 2018

Morning all and Happy Sunday – I hope you have all been having a wonderful weekend.  Ours has been rather quiet so far, though we do have a children’s charity party to go to this afternoon so that will be fun I think, especially followed up by a late Sunday lunch.  The week was quite quiet for me too, with only a bit of work on and one day of excitement where I went to a professional development day and got to meet new people – all of whom were very nice, which made it a good day.

It was quiet on the blog and reading wise as well.  I just couldn’t find any energy after posting the first few days of the week.  I think it’s because I was reading a book that I wasn’t completely enjoying and that always makes me a bit flat.  I’ve finished it now though, so hopefully, this week will be a bit more energised.  Here’s what I did post:

On Monday, I posted a discussion post where I asked Is Variety The Spice of Blogging Life? and pondered on the fact that I think I follow too many blogs and am missing out on those I really enjoy as a result.

On Tuesday, I shared my latest read, Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris, which I’ve already finished but need to wait a few weeks to post a review on (this was not the book that left me flat!).

On Thursday, I posted my first and only review of the week, Look For Me by Lisa Gardner, which was another great book by an author I love and who always seems to keep me on the edge of my seat.

And that’s it for me this week. I told you it was a slow one.  What about you? What have you been up to, reading and otherwise?

  1. Don’t you think that sometimes quiet weeks are meant for a reason?

Perhaps the body’s way of telling us to slow down, chill and take things easy?

You have featured a couple of great sounding books though and although I have yet to read anything by B.A. Paris, I do have a couple of books on my Goodreads ‘Want To Read’ shelf and Lisa Gardner is one of my favourite authors.

I am off now to check out your discussion post, as that really sounds like something I should be reading!!

    Enjoy your Sunday 🙂

    1. You are probably right. I need to be a bit more mindful when it happens vs. Stressing about it!

  2. I hate when a book leaves me feeling flat as it puts me off reading for a bit. I love both BA Paris and Lisa Garder so delighted you enjoyed those books, and I’m looking forward to reading them both too someday soon.

    1. It really has taken the wind out of my sales. The weird thing is I wrote the review today and it isn’t a bad book, it’s just not a book for me.

  3. About following many blogs! You know how I do it? Yeah, I follow a lot on WP and Bloglovin’ – and that’s just to show love and support to all those bloggers. But there are those truly close friends or favorites you don’t want to miss – maybe ten of them – I have in Feedly 😉 you can also make categories and folders in feedly! Which is amazing. Try it. You won’t miss your fave posts that way.

    1. I will give it a go. I have it actually but never tried it.

  4. I read Look for Me and want to read the B.A. Paris title, as that cover and blurb grab me! Hope you have an energizing reading week ahead!

    1. Did you enjoy it? I do love Lisa Gardner.

  5. I love a slow week, because it means more time to catch up on the reads and the TV. And more curling up on the bed. Sadly I didnt have one. But that is ok because I just came from a holiday a week ago and there is a lot to catch up on. Glad you had some quiet time.

    1. Oh a holiday would be lovely – maybe what I need to recharge?

  6. Bring Me Back is on my wishlist so glad it didn’t leave you flat. 🙂

    Week in Review

    1. Me too – it’s been an up and down week for reading!

  7. I have Bring Me Back on my wish list…and I just downloaded Look for Me this week…I love Lisa Gardner’s books.

Enjoy the new week, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. Both great books, though Lisa Gardner would win in a fight!

  8. Look For Me looks awesome, I have been so into thrillers lately. I’ll look that up and maybe add to the pile ha ha! And Bring Me Back nods another BA Paris title that looks interesting, I just read the Breakdown recently and would definitely read her again.

    Happy Sunday!

    1. It really was. I liked The Breakdown a lot, though I know others preferred her first book. I think you will like this.

  9. I think that quiet weeks are often a present – I’m hoping the coming week will be one. And that your children’s charity party was enjoyable:) Let’s hope the coming week will be a bit more lively for you.

    1. I should look at it that way but I never do. The party was fun for the kids, long for the adults but these type of parities always are and it was for a good cause so I will not complain!

      1. I recall those large children’s parties and I have to say – I don’t look back at them with any nostalgia:)

        1. I am just waiting for the day my daughter can be dropped off!

          1. lol… I very much looked forward to the time when they could buy their own shoes:))

  10. Both books look like they’re bring you out of your book funk.

    1. I hope so!

  11. I liked Look for Me enough to go out and buy a copy of Find Her. Now I just have to find time to read it. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Find Her is such a good read – hope you find the time!

  12. I love quiet weeks. I love days without any obligations at all! Bring Me Back looks fascinating…I actually think I have it.

    Have another great week!

  13. I know I follow too many blogs. I think I’m up to 1300. It’s very hard to keep up with them all, even with the list feature on Bloglovin’. Have a great week!

    1. I think I’d collapse under the guilt and pressure to visit them. I just got down from 290 to 150 this week!

  14. I hear you about not enjoying a book and it making other things fall flat! It’s funny how our reading lives can impact so much!

I hope you’ve been well lately and I hope to be able to keep up with the blogging this year! So far catching up from hiatus has me pretty buried! Ha ha.

Hope you have a great week!

    1. It is strange how one book can deflate me. So far this year has been good. Good luck catching up and welcome back x
