Morning all and happy Sunday. I hope you are having a good weekend. Ours has been busy as we prepare for our upcoming holidays. I have been panic buying shorts and t-shirts after deciding nothing I own suits me or fits me or is just quite right for our holiday. Then there are all those lovely travel size products that making packing easier but in reality are never enough of a two week holiday…I am not sure why I insist on buying them but I do. The only downside of going away is my tomatoes, the first I’ve grown in years are on the verge of turning red so it’s likely my parents will reap the benefits of my green thumbs vs. me!
On other, blog related notes, it was also a good week. I posted every day and read some brilliant books…
On Monday, I reviewed Two Nights by Kathy Reichs, a standalone novel that I am hoping is going to start a new series as the central character – Sunday Night – is brilliant. She is one tough cookie with an interesting back story….I want to know more!
On Tuesday, I introduced my latest read, The Upstairs Room by Kate Murray-Browne which I’ve found a little slow going but finally found my reading groove.
On Wednesday, I joined in my first blog tour for Buried on the Fens by Joy Ellis, which has become one of my favourite series over the last year with a great cast of characters and a setting (the Lincolnshire Fens) that just seems perfect for murder and mystery.
On Thursday, I wrote about Reading red lines and asked if there are themes / subject matters you just won’t read as well as sharing mine.
On Friday, I updated my challenge pages and then looked at where I was half way through the year.
On Saturday, I shared the books I had added to my shelves – not many but I like to think it’s quality over quantity.
And that brings me slap bang up-to-date and up to today. How about you – how was your week, reading and otherwise?

This week, I’m linking in with Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and her Sunday Post and with (a little early) Katherine at Book Date for It’s Monday, What Are you Reading? Head over by clicking on their badges below to see what other bloggers have read, written about or just added to their shelves.
I picked up The Good Neighbor this week after seeing it somewhere, and am really looking forward to reading it. The Upstairs Room looks interesting too, w/ that intriguing cover.
Hope you have a great vacation.

I don’t think it matters where you go you always go on a panic buy spree. 🙂 Packing and getting ready for traveling is so stressful!
Have a great week!

You are probably right. We always overpack no matter how planned I think I am.

Yes – that is the trouble with a fortnight away in that all those dinky travelling containers are simply too small. Hope you’re not finding preparing for your holiday is too fraught – I HATE packing! You had a great reading and blogging week, Emma and hope this coming week is a good one for you:) My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/07/16/sunday-post-16th-july-2017/

Why do I buy them that’s the question. I don’t mind the packing but the unpacking at the other end is bizarrely the thing that I hate. There is never the storage I need.

Have fun on your vacation! And ugh, yes about travel sized products. I do the same thing and end up having to go to the store during the vacation to buy more, usually.
So many of the books you read this week have beautiful covers… Heading over to those posts to check them out!

I feel like I buy clothes in the same manner! I can take 20 things to the dressing room and I’m doing good if I walk out with three that fit me right and look right. Enjoy your trip!

I hate going away and leaving a garden about to fruit up. Lucky parents, at least they are not going to wait. Maybe some will be still there when you return. Happy shopping!!

Very lucky parents – though as they will be doing the watering while we’re gone I guess they’ll earn it.

I am jealous that you read Two Knights already. I want to read it! After finishing The Twilight Wife I will pick up The Good Neighbor. Have a wonderful trip. I always worry about my hydrangeas when I go away for more than a few days.

It was really, really good so I hope you enjoy it when you get a copy. Thankfully my parents live close enough to come by and water my plants so they should survive 🙂

Any excuse to buy new clothes as a good one! 😛 But aww man, I’d be upset about missing out on the tomatoes too! Maybe they’ll wait for you to come back before turning red.

You are right about the clothes. I may have ended up over shopping 😳 I would hope the tomatoes would wait but I don’t think I will be lucky enough.
