Happy New Year. Here’s to a good 2015!
As I mentioned Monday, I’m joining Sheila over at Book Journey and more than a few other bloggers in sharing my first book of 2015. I wasn’t sure Monday which it would be, but I settled on Keeper of the Light by Diane Chamberlain in the end. In part, because it had been on my to read longest but mainly because I am pretty sure I’ll enjoy it – I’ve read a fair few of her other books and have with those. I wanted to start the reading year on the upswing I guess.
Apologies for the rather bad selfie but here I am with the book.
And here are the first words I read in 2015.
Christmas 1990
It rained the entire day. It rained with such force that the shrubs next to the emergency room parking lot lay flat to the ground and the new roof sprang a leak. One of the nurses set a bucket on the floor of the waiting room to catch the water, and within an hour the rain had filled it to the brim.
Not the most intriguing or enlightening as far as what comes next goes but Chamberlain’s books are a slow burn so expecting good things will come.
What book are you starting the year with? Hope it’s a good one.

Its a gorgeous selfie, you did really well. I read that book last year so jumped in delight when I saw it. Actually was my first book by her, I went on to read the next two in this trilogy and then The Silent Sister. I have some more in my TBR that I got from a book fair. Great choice.

Diane Chamberlain is on my must read authors list this year! I’ve heard such great things about her books. Your selfie’s so cute! I’m terrible at them. Best case I look contorted, worst case I crop out half my head or something. Have a happy New Year!
